Divorce
Divorce Isn't Just an End …
It's the Start of Something New
Risoldi Law Offices, LLC
The difficult and sometimes painful emotions that go hand-in-hand with divorce can make it hard to see clearly and recognize that whatever else divorce is, it is also the start of something new.
At Risoldi Law Offices, we understand how important beginnings are and provide clients with the dedicated, conscientious legal help they need to get their new lives started off right. We are supportive and compassionate. We are strong and aggressive when we need to be. We — and our clients — are always prepared.
If you are seeking a lawyer or law firm that can offer you these things, call or contact us at either the New Hope, or Langhorne, Pennsylvania, office locations.
Five Things You Should Know Before Getting a Divorce
Practicing in Both Pennsylvania and New Jersey
Our attorney, Carla V. Risoldi, maintains an active divorce practice in both Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Because of that, she not only understands how the divorce process works in both states and from county to county, but also the complex jurisdictional issues that can be raised when families live apart.
Our practice includes:
- Divorce mediation
- Child custody and visitation
- Child support
- Spousal support/alimony
- Marital property division
- Business valuations
- Qualified domestic relations orders (QDROs)
- Property settlement agreements
- Post-divorce modification of custody, visitation or support orders
There are important differences in how the process works in each state. For example, in New Jersey a divorce can be obtained by default judgment. This means that if you wait too long to hire an attorney, it could already be too late. Along those same lines, New Jersey has case management conferences and matrimonial early settlement panels, whereas Pennsylvania uses something called a Master's conference (which, by the way, is handled differently by different counties).
In any case, we and our attorney can help.
